We do most of our business with two brands that we feel are the best value products. But Ultimately You Decide !!!
- Are you paying too much on your heating and cooling costs?
- Did your windows stick shut after being painted?
- Does your house feel drafty?
- Do you need a book to keep your windows open?
- Do you hate having to paint your windows?
If you have one of these old, drafty windows then your hard earned money is going out the window...
There are three ways these windows lose you money....
1. Infiltration: Allowing cold or heat to pass through small gaps or crevices in a product. A crack or crevice just 1/16 of an inch around a 3'x 5' window equals 13 square inches (or one missing brick!)
For the average size home, with 8 windows, this is equivalent to a hole in your wall the size of 8 missing bricks.
An opening that large is like heating or cooling your home with a window open year `round
2. Conduction: The transmission of heat through matter.
The majority of your heating and cooling dollars are migrating outdoors through that SINGLE PANE of glass in your window. You lose 3 times more energy through CONDUCTION than INFILTRATION.
Now, instead of an opening the size of one brick per window, you have 3 bricks per window! The average size home, with 8 windows, now heats and cools with a hole in its wall equivalent to 24 bricks.
3. Radiation: Movement of energy through space. When you stand by a window and feel "cold," your body heat is actually radiating to the glass, then outside. This also happens to the air you heat during winter. In summer, the sun radiates into your house, and your air-conditioner works overtime - which is like trying to heat or cool your home with a door open year `round.
